Mylo
Our one year old goldendoodle, Mylo, has been through all three levels of Julie's training programs. At the very first beginner's class, Mylo was young and knew no commands. Today, Mylo can sit, lay down, stay with distraction, go to place, give paw, heel, 'leave it', back up, and come (to name a few). It's extraordinary. What sets Julie apart is that she genuinely loves dogs, and cares for all of her 'students'. Mylo loves his Aunt Julie and looks forward to his time with her each week. Simply put, it was a blessing that we found Julie to train our little guy and we highly recommend her. She's the best.

Jake
Jake loved his classes with Aunt Julie! It was amazing to see the transformation from a rambunctious young pup to a 125 pound responsive member of the family who aims to please because of the relationship we have built through training. Julie taught us the importance of forming a bond with Jake so that his behaviors are learned through respect and love for one another. The lessons we learned are not training tips, but rather life lessons that we will take with us forever. In addition to knowing that Jake will respond to me through the toughest distractions, I also learned how to read his body language and gained a better understanding of our ability to communicate with each other. We could not have asked for a better experience and are so thankful to New Leash on Life for giving us this gift. Jake basks in the glow from all the compliments we receive on how well behaved and lovable he is! Thank you Aunt Julie for helping us create a priceless relationship!
Zavi
We adopted our second Cavapoo, Zavi, and knew we had to find the right place and trainer for him. Zavi started his classes and met "Aunt Julie" as we loving refer to her. After the first class we were hooked.
Zavi graduated puppy class, continued through "advanced beginner and "intermediate" classes. We followed Julie to the new site; Zavi was one of the first students at "New Leash on Life" and is now in the "advanced level" class. Class is more challenging each week and we are continuously amazed at our accomplishments. In a few short moments, Julie demonstrates with our dogs new skills building upon those we learned previously, while reinforcing the old. Each time she explains what we will be learning and why we will be learning it. We are far beyond doggy "parlor tricks"; we are learning life skills. As a teacher, I see the correlation of everything taught.
We are so pleased to work with "Aunt Cindy" another member of our training team. She is with us during our play sessions and shares her insight and understanding as she watches and narrates the social dynamics of canine interactions. Her acute comprehension of these animals is evident. Do you think I would recommend "New Leash on Life" training? Absolutely! What I can tell you is that it has enriched our lives with our "baby". I believe he is happier because he understands this crazy world a little bit better, knows what is expected of him, and is safer because of it. We are able to take him to business establishments, people's homes, and with other dogs comfortably. It surely increases the quality of our lives.
We chose to adopt this little puppy who gives us unconditional love and brings us so much joy. It is our responsibility to raise him as best we can and with the help of these extraordinary women, we plan to do just that. ~ Barbara Sack
Cedar
Dear Julie, Cedar and I would like to thank you for all you have taught us. I can't believe the difference in her. I receive so many compliments about how well trained she is when we go into the stores. We had a blast in all your classes! We can't wait to see what you come up with for after advanced class! Hugs, Lynn and Cedar
Charlie
Aunt Julie is so great she makes learning so much fun. I love going to class and so do my mom and dad. Aunt Julie knows a ton of great stuff which she has helped me to learn so I can train my parents. What is so great is that she works me hard but at the end tells me how well I did. She always gives me lots of hugs too. I love Aunt Julie and my mom and dad are so happy we came to meet her. From, Charlie
Honey
When I first brought Honey to Puppy Kindergarten, she was a 4 pound, shy and scared three month old puppy. Julie spent the time encouraging and teaching her. She gave fantastic advice about socializing all puppies, and stressed its importance. I took her advice seriously, and brought Honey around other dogs, people and children. One year later, Honey is an extremely friendly and happy young dog, who loves every living creature. We have since taken basic and intermediate classes and are looking forward to starting an advanced class. Aunt Julie helped bring Honey out of her shell, and I have seen her do the same for other dogs in class. She has an infinite amount of patience (with both the pups & the owners), and her love of her 'students' is so genuine. Thank you so much! ~ Meredith
Benji
Hi, my name is Stephanie and my dog Benji and I started training with Julie 2 years ago. Training with Julie is the best, I learned how to work with Benji to focus on him and now our relationship is much better. Benji went from acting like a hyper puppy to a more settled in adult doggie. Julie uses positive training which will never hurt any dog just reward their good behavior. I hope to train with Julie again in the near future, Benji has come a long way and I hope to learn more about dog behaviors in order to understand my dog and his needs.
Tike & Bo
I don't think there are enough words to describe the type of insturctor Julie is. Her love and compassion for her job is extrodinary. She has always gone above and beyond what is expected. Not only would I recommend Julie to others but rather insist they tap into her knowledge about dog training. I am incredibly fortunate to have been able to work with Julie.
Gibson
Our Toy Poodle Gibson was just under 2 years old and a puppy mill rescue when we adopted him. A darling little man, but very fearful. Men, sharp noises, thunderstorms, even nail clippers were enough to start him shivering! Our first Beginner’s Obedience Class he was in a total panic – shaking so hard that Julie had us swaddle him and take him to the back of the room to try and calm down. These few months have seen a remarkable change. Julie’s caring, patience and extra help with some one-on-one lessons have given us a different dog. No more blind panic attacks and is able to work even when he is nervous. We will continue to work with Julie and bring Gibson along to the wonderful, smart and loving dog he is. ~Judy & Vince Bevilacqua
Gracie
We embraced Gracie into our family in Oct.2009. She was our 8 week old Golden Retriever at the time. Me and my three kids invited Gracie into our family as a way to help us all cope with my new diagnosis of breast cancer. Within a few days Julie came into our home as "Aunt Julie" alias dog trainer. From the moment Gracie went running up to greet her at the door, it was obvious that Julie naturally "gets" the mind and hearts of dogs. With open arms, consistant repetition and a pocket full of treats, she taught us ways to reinforce her good behaviors, the ones that were incompatible with the puppy behaviors that we struggled with. She intuitively views the world from the dogs perspective and taught us how to acknowledge and respect Gracie's point of view. With advice, demonstration, knowledge, opinions on diet, and example, Julie taught us how to mindfully accept, train and ease the transition of expanding our family to include Gracie. We can't imagine life without our beautiful baby, Gracie.
